Car Insurance

Or everyone go non protected?
Car insurance for me this year - £770 not protected, £860 protected... (not bad for an insurance group 16 car I guess given where I live too!)
Never had it before (this will be year 8 of no claims, and don't know why am ever considering it).
I know that even if I have a claim the premiums go up, and from 7 odd years claimless driving it would be reasonable to say I'm an okay driver I guess...
However... Something about 2008 makes me consider it...
What about you folk?
